GRID CONNECTION INSTALLATIONS
A complete solution is supplied with automatic regulation of the flow as well as automation systems equipped with different options, for example the remote control through smartphone, tablet or computer. For mini-hydroelectric plants with high power these solutions are ideal, here it is necessary to optimize the performance of the complete system and to constantly keep an eye on the electrical and hydraulic data.
Simpler solutions are proposed for smaller hydroelectric plants by IREM, they have basic functions for automation and monitoring and a manual regulation of the flow. Low powers result therefore economically advantageous in this way.
The IREM hydroelectric turbine-control board system has been developed pursuing the principles of simplicity, reliability and efficiency. This design philosophy has allowed us to obtain hydroelectric plants with high performances and really low maintenance, easy to install and to manage.

STAND ALONE INSTALLATIONS
The system for IREM stand-alone hydroelectric plants is characterised by a simple to install and reliable solution, while the generation of electric power with a high level of power quality id guaranteed. Coupled to the control board, the electronic regulators make a real time regulation of the necessary mains frequency (50 or 60 Hz) getting a perfect balance between the generated power of the hydroelectric turbine and the power used by the users.

DRINKING WATER
ECOWATT HYDRO CERTIFICATE
Specially designed for hydroelectric plant installed on aqueduct IREM ECOWATT HYDRO Pelton and Banki turbines, follow the legislation about the manufacturing process and materials usable in contact with water for human consumption governed in Europe by the European Directive 98/83/CE, in Italy DM 174/2004 and in France ACS (Attestation de Conformité Sanitaire). Both –amongst the most restrictive standards in Europe – the conformity to D.M. 174/2004 and the ACS are certified by an external company.

PELTON TURBINES
To ensure a simple operation and to minimize installation, start-up and maintenance, this is how the Pelton ECOWATT HYDRO are designed and produced by IREM.
Suitable for flow rates ranging from 0,5 to 450 litres per second and medium-high head, from 20 to 550 meters.
The 6-jets distributor that allows compact size and very flexible of water flow regulation by means of the six nozzles, in addition to ensuring very good efficiency by changing the flow is one of the main feature of Pelton IREM ECOWATT HYDRO.
IREM ECOWATT HYDRO Pelton turbines are reliable and sturdy industrial products, designed for easy installation even in hard to reach areas.
These products are manufactured in compliance with Machinery Directive 2006/42/CE.

BANKI TURBINES
To ensure a simple operation and to minimize installation, start-up and maintenance, this is how the Banki ECOWATT HYDRO are designed and produced by IREM.
The IREM cross flow turbines are suitable for lowmedium head, from 5 to 50 meters, and flow rates ranging from 10 to 1500 liters per second.
The simplicity and strength of the machine that allow a compact design and long lasting life even in the worst environmental conditions are one of the main features of Banki IREM ECOWATT HYDRO.
IREM ECOWATT HYDRO turbines are reliable and sturdy industrial products designed for easy installation even in hard to reach areas.
These products are manufactured in compliance with Machinery Directive 2006/42/CE.

PICO HYDRO
When the electrical power is really low and there isn’t a national grid, this type of hydroelectric plants is used. IREM is able to supply turbines with very low dimensions and power, satisfying these needs with a product of high quality and reliability. Shelters, cottages or mountain pastures are typical application areas where it is essential to have, easy to install simple systems and less maintenance.

CONTROL BOARD FOR PLANTS
IN PARALLEL TO THE ELECTRICAL GRID
It is necessary to install a control board of automation and parallel to the grid, which optimize the plant management considering the relevant regulations in order to connect the turbine-generator group to the electrical grid.
QPR control boards are an important component of the hydroelectric plant installed in parallel to the electrical grid. The QPR control boards have Three functions:
- electrical connection of the hydroelectric plant to the national electric grid satisfying the regulatory requirements
- manage the electrical actuators for the regulation of the water flow
- plant parameter monitoring
Several options are available for the most complete solutions, for example the remote control through smartphone, tablet or computer. Complete sensors devices such as vibration, temperature, pressure sensors and loading tank water level. These perfect are solutions for mini-hydro plants with medium-high power, where it is essential to control the hydraulic and electrical data continuously.
IREM propose more simply solutions with basic functions in terms of automation and monitoring for hydroelectric plant with a lower power. In this way also plants with low power are economically beneficial.

CONTROL BOARD FOR PLANTS IN STAND-ALONE
The method of electronic control to constant load is the most innovative system to regulate the electric parameters of a hydroelectric stand-alone plant. A good level of power quality is guaranteed in this way.
Seventy years’ experience are the result of the control boards (CM-CT) for stand-alone hydroelectric plants developed by IREM.
They are industrial products that guarantee reliability quality and flexibility. Specially designed for the control of IREM Ecowatt Hydro turbine-generator groups, they enhance the characteristics, making the whole system extremely efficient and reliable.
The control board CT (three-phase) and CM (single-phase) allow the electric connection between hydroelectric turbine, electronic regulators and users. Different optionals are available.
IREM Ecowatt Hydro system for plants in stand-alone are guaranteed in correct operation by the electronic regulators RMP. They are essential to improve the balance between the electric generated power of the turbine-generator group and the power absorbed from the users. They assure a faultless regulation of generated frequency and voltage.
